Family shoots
From toddlers to teens, whether it's a special occasion, a favourite time of year or just an opportunity to capture your growing family - families is what we do here at Lightmonkey. You have lots of options for a family shoot - to make sure your experience, and the photographs that you come away with, really reflect you and your family.
Outdoor photoshoots
For a location, or outdoor shoot, we’ll get outside into the beautiful countryside surrounding Berkhamsted and Tring, in Ashridge Forest, at a local park or landmark. We’re so lucky in this part of the country and spoilt for gorgeous outdoor locations. Autumn is a popular time for a woodland shoots, as is April and May when the Bluebell woods come to life. If your children are old enough, the light in the evening just before sunset (which we photographers call golden hour) makes for really beautiful photographs. Many people prefer location photoshoots as they feel it is more relaxed and they like the 'natural' look of the photographs.
For more outdoor example see below.
Studio Photoshoots
For a studio session I'll welcome you into my home where I have a fully equipped studio. Its the best of both worlds as little ones feel at ease in a home setting and arent phased by an inpersonal studio. Many clients prefer the clean, minimalist look of a studio session. I have years of experience with children - including my own two boys - so getting kids to relax and enjoy themselves is never an issue. I have some fun props to use if you choose, a playroom for siblings to amuse themselves and weather is never a problem!
Lifestyle Photoshoots
A shoot at home, known as a "lifestyle" photoshoot, is a more relaxed alternative during the winter or if you dont fancy an outdoor session. You don't have to have a huge, show house style home for this, in fact, one of my favourite home shoots took place in a lovely, but tiny, two up two down Victorian terrace. I usually combine this type of shoot with some photographs in your garden, or a local park, for variety. Of course the advantage of this type of session is that you and your children are in your own environment, and are much more relaxed and at ease. We can include favourite toys or unique features of your house.
